Science at Bempton Primary School equips children with the skills and knowledge to be able to flourish in life. Teachers enable the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of the world in which we live and teach scientific enquiry skills that facilitates children to be enquiry based learners.

Science is given a high priority in school with high expectations. We like to link lessons to real life in order to inspire our learners and place emphasis on a ‘hands on’ approach to stimulate and enthuse our pupils’ curiosity about life.

Our curriculum is planned so that pupils build on learnt knowledge and skills with regular opportunities to apply these in a variety of ways. We also encourage the asking of questions and explore ways in which they might find the answers.
